About This Course

The course covers quantitative methods for decision problems. It treats linear programming formulation and the simplex method, duality and sensitivity analysis, transportation and assignment problems, network and project models, integer and dynamic programming, queueing and inventory models, decision analysis under uncertainty, and simulation as a solution technique. Learning outcomes: Formulate a practical decision problem as a mathematical programming model. Solve and interpret optimisation models, including their sensitivity to data changes. Select an appropriate operations research technique for a given class of problem.
